Summer Training 2012
Jaypee University of Information Technology is offering summer training of one month (from 1st June 2012) in different areas of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics to M.Tech./B.Tech/M.Sc. students in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. Following are the training modules floated for the upcoming summer:-
Environmental Biotechnology (Bioremediation of hydrocarbons/Bioleaching of electronic waste/Bioconversion of feedstock to alternative fuels, Bioethnaol, Biogas/vermicomposting/Bacterial Identification).
Molecular Biology Techniques (Plasmid isolation, Restriction analysis, Cloning and PCR amplification of a given gene, Molecular marker techniques).
Commercial Plant Tissue Culture (Micropropagation & Production of Phytopharmaceuticals through cell culture technologies).
Microbial Pathogens (handling, diagnostic techniques).
Industrial Biotechnology (production and immobilization of industrial enzymes).
Medical Genomics (SNP discovery, DNA fingerprinting for forensics)
Natural Product Chemistry (Extraction, Isolation, separation and purification of natural products of plant origin, Chromatographic techniques).
Computational Biology (Genome analysis tools/ Protein modeling tools/ Sequence analysis/ Pairwise and multiple alignments and their importance in gene prediction and phylogenetic analysis).
Computational Aided Drug Design (Various approaches for computational based drug design techniques based on availability of structure for target and potential lead molecules).
Database development and Data Mining Techniques (Business Intelligence Model; Design & development of relational databases; data mining techniques).
Training fee will be Rs 10,000 including accommodation and mess charges.
Interested students may send their applications (hard copy or soft copy) routed through their Dean/HOD/Training Coordinator along with CV indicating the subjects (Theory as well as Lab. courses) for which they are registered in the current semester by May 15, 2012 to the undersigned.
