NCCS Ph. D Entrance Examination-2012

GENERAL: NCCS, Pune, is conducting All India online entrance examination through MKCL at various centers in PUNE, for admissions to Ph.D. for the candidates who are bonafide Indian citizens and having consistently good academic record. Syllabus for the exah,ination will be same as prescribed for M.Sc. (Biotech) course by DBT (Link). Candidates should have strong motivation to pursue research in modern biology leading to a Ph.D. degree. All the eligible candidates should apply online through MKCL website for the entrance examination. For more details please visit MKCL Website: http://oasis.mkcl.org/nccs. ELIGI BILITY:

Should have M.Sc. degree in any branch of Science having at least 50% or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA)

Holds a valid Junior Research Fellowship from CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT/DST/INSPIRE and Fellowship should be valid as on the date of joining. (Candidates who have qualified only for Lectureship in CSIR-UGC (NET) 1 the "Project List of ICMR" need not apply).

Other terms and conditions of the fellowship will be as directed by the agency awarding the fellowship. The upper age limit for JRF shall be 28 years which is relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women/PH and 3 years in case of OBC candidates.

Reservation will be as per the Government of India guidelines.

MODE OF APPLICATION: Candidates should apply in the prescribed application form obtainable online at the http://oasis.mkcl.org. The completed application form along with the required documents and application fee in the form of a DD of Rs. 300/-( SC/ST candidates exempted from payment of examination fees) drawn in favor of MKCL, payable at Pune, on any nationalized bank, should reach the Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Ltd., 5th Floor , B Wing, ICC Trade Towers , Senapati Bapat Road, Pune -411 016 on or before 14.07.2012. The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

MODE OF SELECTION: The candidates will be selected based on online examination & the Result will be declared on same day. All those candidates declared successful in the examination will have to appear for a personal interview at NCCS, Pune University Campus, Ganeshkhind, Pune, as per the schedule. Candidates should make their own arrangements for stay at Pune for one or two days till completion of the interview. Examination Centres, Schedule of Examination, Time & date(s) of Interview will be displayed on website.

PERSONAL INTERVIEWS: Personal interview will be held at NCCS, Pune of all those candidates declared successful in the examination as per schedule. Candidates should bring all the original documents with attested copy of following documents:

1) Birth certificate/ proof of Date of birth.
2) If the candidates belongs to Reserved Category / Physical Handicapped suitable
certificate of competent authorities.
3) Statement of marks of each year/semester of graduation
4) Statement of marks of each year/semester of (M.Sc.)
5) Net Certificate/ Admit card .
6) For OBC category valid Non-creamy layer certificate.

Second class train fare by shortest route will be paid to only SC/ST Candidates as per rules. For TA claim candidates should report at NCCS, Pune on 23/07/12.
