UGC-NRCBS XXV – Winter School on ‘Plant Genetic Engineering’

UGC-NRCBS, Madurai Kamaraj University invites applications from research scholars, post-docs, young faculty members and scientists of Indian universities/research institutions for the Winter School on ‘Plant Genetic Engineering’ to be held from 3–17 September 2012.

The Winter School is aimed to provide the participating young researchers with hands on training in the area of Agrobacterium mediated transformation and characterization of the transgenic plants. This will include construction of plant transformation vectors, mobilization of binary vectors into Agrobacterium, plant transformation, selection and regeneration of transgenic plants, screening and characterization of transgenic plants. Candidates should submit the filled application form to Dr R. Sripriya, Convener, UGC-NRCBS Winter School on ‘Plant Genetic Engineering’, School of Biological Sciences, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai 625 021 on or before 10 August 2012.

There is no registration fee.

Applications should be forwarded by their research supervisor/Head of the department or Head of the institution. Applications sent via e-mail will also be considered. The duly forwarded hard copy should reach within a week.

The candidates will be selected based on their qualification and research interests. TA/DA will be provided to the selected participants as per the MK University regulations.
