SCOPE OF THE SEMINAR There is a growing worldwide concern about the escalating number of cancer death and its prevalence against diverse types of treatment. Despite many decades of investigation and progress that has been made in cancer research, the exact causes of most cancers remain unknown. Furthermore, a lack of early detection of the disease and development of resistance to current chemotherapeutic agents hampers the success of treatment. This seminar will focus on emerging challenges in cancer and stem cell biology, such as exploring the role of cancer stem cells in tumor development & progression, molecular mechanism of cancer and signaling pathways that may be a potential targets for developing clinical therapeutics. Moreover, a special emphasize will be given to promising trends in the advancement of prognostic and diagnostic tests of cancer that may greatly increases the chance for successful treatment; and focus on advanced strategies in the treatment of cancers that offers to overcome many of the existing problems in chemo resistance. The invited speakers of this seminar will share their frontline knowledge of cancer and stem cell biology. Therefore this seminar will be a great choice for biomedical researchers, scholars and students.
