ACTREC 8th National Research Scholars Meet in Life Sciences | 21st-22nd December 2012

We, the graduate students of ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre, Navi Mumbai are organizing the 8th National Research Scholars Meet in Life Sciences scheduled on 21st-22nd December, 2012.

National Research Scholars Meet in Life Sciences, earlier known as Graduate Students Meet (GSM), has been an annual event since its inception in 2005. It is an event hosted by the graduate students of ACTREC and has been primarily for graduate students. This year we hope to expand our reach beyond graduate students by inviting post doctoral fellows and industrial representatives in India under one roof to share ideas and build scientific networks with the research fellows from all over the country. The highlight of the conference will be talks by the keynote speakers Dr. K.S. Krishnan, NCBS, Bangalore and Dr. Milind Watve, IISER, Pune. Importantly, we will feature oral and poster presentations from graduate students and post doctoral fellows, with awards for the best presentations. This year we are grateful to provide a platform to address opportunities and career awards for young research scholars through an interactive session on Welcome Trust-DBT Alliance initiated program.

Every researcher is identified by his keen ability to observe whether it is through a microscope or a camera. Through our Creative photography contest- i sight, we would like to encourage the hidden photographic talent of all research scholars. Details of the event can be found on our website.

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations from graduate students and post-doctoral fellows are invited in the following disciplines.

● Structural Biology

● Biochemistry and Immunology
● Cellular and Molecular Biology

● Carcinogenesis and Drug Discovery

Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and should be sent via email to gsm.actrec@gmail.com by 5th December, 2012. Those students interested in attending the conference should email their registration forms to the same address by 10th December, 2012.
