Research Associate (Genetics/Plant Breeding)
ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the post of Research Associate (Genetics/Plant Breeding) to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited position.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate evaluation of breeding lines, frame out experiments, randomization, data analysis, and report compilation;
- Compile trials data from JCERDC partners in India and prepare work plan
- Co-ordinate seed exchange with national partners involved in the activities of JCERDC project and ensure on time seed dispatch to all partners;
- Ensure seed multiplication of identified promising lines in the project for participatory varietal trials;
- To actively associate in writing project reports, research articles.
Competencies:
- Proficiency in English communication skills(both written and spoken);
- Proficiency in Computer skills (Ms- Office, data analysis);
- Should be a good team player and adaptable to working in multicultural team.
- Willingness to travel to MLT locations in India
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding /Agricultural Biotechnology/Life sciences with job related knowledge;
- Post-Graduates in Genetics and Plant Breeding /Agricultural Biotechnology/Life sciences with 2-3 years of relevant experience may also be considered;
General:
The position is for three years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the Institute's continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
