Essential Qualification : For Scientist Position-PhD (submitted) in any branch of Biological Sciences. For Senior Scientist Position-PhD in any branch of Biological Sciences with 2 years post doctoral research experience on molecular, biomolecular and genetic approaches to understand fundamental knowledge on RNA or RNA-protein complexes and their contribution to elucidate disease mechanism.

Desirable : Knowledge in enzymology, translational control or gene expressions and cell signaling.

Job Requirement : The selected candidate is expected to develop independent projects in frontier areas of nucleic acid research and participate in other ongoing multi-institutional research programs.

Age Limit  : 32 years for Scientist and 37 years for Senior Scientist.

Reservation Status : The post is unreserved.

Pay Band : Rs. 15,600-39,100/-

Grade Pay : Rs. 6,600/- or Rs. 7,600. The Selection Committee depending upon the performance of the candidate may choose to place the candidate in any of the Grade Pay within the Pay Band subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criterion specified.

Total Emoluments : The total monthly emoluments at this level inclusive of all allowances would be between Rs. 56,385/- to 64,725/-.

Application fee : Bank Draft of Rs.100/- drawn in favour of Director, IICB payable at Kolkata.(The application fee is exempted for PH Candidate)
