Junior Research Fellowships

The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) aims to be an international institution of excellence in biotechnology, with intimate contributions from regional countries as well as from academic institutions worldwide. RCB will provide a globally competitive platform for interdisciplinary research and education at biotech interface of engineering and medicine, chemistry and physics, agriculture and climate science to empower human resources to drive biotech innovations.

Applications are invited from postgraduates in biotechnology or related areas for Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs) to work under the mentorship of its faculty towards Ph.D. degree. Candidates should have intense interest to work at the interface of multiple disciplines.

Presently pursued areas include Cell and Molecular Biology, Chemical and Structural Biology, Disease and Microbiology, Developmental Biology, Cancer Biology and Nanomedicine.

The fellowship is initially tenable for the duration of two years, and is extendable for additional three years. Continuation of fellowship and upgradation will be subject to satisfactory performance on annual review. The candidates who have completed their M.Sc. within past two years, have scored 60% or more marks in their graduate and post-graduate degree examinations (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST/PH candidates) and have qualified one of the following national level postgraduate examinations are eligible to apply: CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, DBT JRF, ICMR JRF, ICAR JRF or equivalent.

Only short-listed candidates will be invited for interview for final selection.
