TI Research Associate

Monsanto is in quest of highly motivated and able individual to work as a member of Cotton Trait conversion team. The Research Officer partners with the Conversion Breeder to support program needs and work priorities to ensure that they are accomplished. The incumbent will be responsible for conversion of elite cotton inbred lines to different traits with which Monsanto is working with.
The Research Officer is responsible for all the day-to-day operations of trait testing lab and greenhouses at Kallakal site. This individual is critical to research implementation and will have the opportunity to work with different biotech traits, research equipment, superior genetic material, and help drive quality conversions
Responsibilities:
Handling conversion of cotton inbred lines with different biotech traits through MABC
Timely collection of quality data and advancement of 3 generations per year
Work closely with conversion breeder to help drive the target timelines
Familiarity with ELISA, PCR assays with knowledge on transgenic trait testing in GM plants is desirable
Assist Conversion Center Manager in molecular data analysis and its interpretation
Assist in documentation of TI processes for ISO/Bio ETS
Driving mechanization and process improvements wherever necessary
Adherence to all ESH procedures, ISO, regulatory and compliance protocols, and business conduct protocols
Required Skills/Experience
· MSc Agri in Plant Breeding, Biotechnology or related field of study and 2-3 years of experience specially in breeding/trait integration
· Broad knowledge of crop production, Back cross breeding and Mendelian genetics
· Expertise in marker data analysis and interpretation
· Strong computer skills related to data acquisition, organization, and data analysis.
Desired Skills/Experience:
· Work experience specific to cotton crop
· Experience in working with regulated biotech traits
