- 6 ( Six ) vacancies exist in the Department for admission to Ph.D considering the strength and availability of faculty members.
- The Research Eligibility Test (RET) for Ph.D. programme in Genetics & Plant Breeding will be held on 12th February, 2013 at 2 p.m.
- The last date for submission of application form :11th February, 2013.
- The RET will be of 50 marks . The question pattern will be of multiple choice type or short answer type . The Duration of the entrance test will be one hour.
- An interview will be held on 13th February, 2013 at 2 p.m. for RET qualified ( Qualification bench mark – 40% of the total marks ) as well as NET/GATE/ SLET qualified candidates. A seminar of 10 minutes duration is to be given on work plan for each candidate.
- Successful candidates will be eligible to register for their Ph.D in Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding .
- Eligibility :The Ph.D. entrance test of 50 marks for the eligible candidates will be held twice (depending on the availability of candidate) in a year and the qualifying marks will be fixed at 40%. Candidates with at least 50% Marks obtained in M.Sc. (Ag.) in Genetics & Plant Breeding ( or allied disciplines subject to endorsement by the concerned Ph.D. Committee) from any UGC recognized University are eligible to appear in the Examination. Those who have qualified in NET/GATE/SLET or already obtained M.Phil degree would be exempted from the RET examination. They may directly submit a statement of purpose or research in brief and appear in the interview.
