International Workshop on Molecular Markers and Genome Analysis in Plants

12–16 March 2013

Department of Botany, University of Kerala is organizing an International Workshop on Molecular Markers and Genome Analysis in Plants at Thiruvananthapuram from 12 to 16 March 2013.

The aim of the workshop is to expose research on the recent advances and applications of molecular markers and bioinformatics. It will provide a platform for hands on training on the detection of DNA polymorphism by advanced molecular markers. Retrieval of information from public databases and the procedure of sequence analysis will be an inseparable part in the workshop. The practical sessions will be preceded by lectures on plant genomes and their significance in crop improvement.

We invite applications from junior faculty and senior research scholars in Botany, Biotechnology and Agriculture with interest in molecular markers and bioinformatics.

Participation for the workshop will be by invitation only. The number is limited to 20 participants. Brochure and registration form is available in www.keralauniversity.edu  (what’s new). Applications including address, area of specialization/ area of interest and reason for participation in the workshop may be submitted to unikerbot@rediffmail.com on or before 5 February 2013.
