Malkolak Institute Goa Microbiology JRF Vacancy

Positions at Malkolak Institute of Marine Studies (M-IMS), Goa Applications invited from qualified candidates for Govt. sponsored grant-in-aid projects to work at Goa on or before 1st March 2013.

1. Under a collaborative grant-in-aid project entitled Isolation, purification and characterization of chitin and chitosan from the carapace of Indian horseshoe crab for anti-bacterial and antioxidant activities funded by the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, Govt of India.

a) Junior Research Fellow (one): (Fellowship: Rs 16000/- pm

Qualifications: M.Sc. (preferably NET qualified) in Microbiology, Zoology and Biotechnology from a recognised university. Age between 22 and 28 years.

Desirable: Experience in working with microbial systems, well versed in molecular biological techniques and enzymology studies including assay development and optimization and kinetic studies, proficiency in using systems like, UV-Visible spectrophotometer, tissue culture and electrophoresis units

b) Office Attendant (part time) (One): (Consolidated emolument: Rs 8000/- pm)

Qualifications: B.Com (No age bar)

c) Field Boy (One): (Consolidated emolument: Rs 5000/- pm) (Age between 20 and 25 years)

Qualifications: Matriculation

2. M-IMS also invites women candidates having break in their career interested in submitting proposals to DST under WOS-B scheme.
