FACULTY RECRUITMENT

The Wildlife Institute of India is a premier national institution for training and research in Wildlife Conservation and Management. The Institute is looking for bright candidates for filling up 02 (two) ‘Scientists-C’ (Group-A Scientific Service) posts on Direct Recruitment basis. The scientists would be eligible for career advancement under the Flexible Complementing Scheme (FCS) of Assessment Promotion for Group-A Scientists.
Applications are invited from citizens of India for filling up the above stated two scientific posts. The details are as under:
A.1 Scientist-C
Pay Band-3 (15600-39100) with Grade Pay of Rs. 6600
One post – Unreserved
One post – Scheduled Tribe (ST)
Wildlife Science
Master’s Degree in Wildlife Science/ Life Sciences with 03 (THREE) years experience in the discipline.
OR
Ph.D. in Wildlife Science/ Life Sciences with 01 (ONE) year experience in the discipline.
Terms and Conditions:
1. The headquarter for the above posts would be Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun. However, the selected candidates would be liable to serve at any location decided by the Institute as per functional needs.
2. Age: Not exceeding 31 years in case of candidates possessing Master’s degree and 34 years in case of candidates having Ph.D. degree as on 28th February 2013.
3. Age Relaxation:
(i) A maximum of 5 years of age relaxation for the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories and 3 years age relaxation for the candidates of OBC category shall be allowed. Relaxation in age limit for other notified (special) categories of persons shall be in accordance with the orders issued by the Government of India from time to time.
(ii) A maximum of 5 years of age relaxation in age limit shall be allowed to Institute/ Government/ Autonomous Bodies/ University employees in accordance with the instructions and orders issued by the Government of India from time to time.
4. Relaxation in Experience Qualification in respect of ST candidates:
The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the competent authority in case of ST candidates, if at any stage of selection, the competent authority is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from ST communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them. However, no relaxation shall be granted to ST candidates regarding Educational Qualifications.
5. As the job requires extensive traveling to forest interiors, high altitude and arduous terrains, only those candidates who are physically fit and willing to undertake such activities may apply.
6. Candidates working in Government/ Autonomous Bodies/ Universities should submit their applications through proper channel together with a certificate duly signed by the employer/forwarding authority. They may, however, send an advance copy of the application, in the prescribed format, complete in all respects, including postal order/Bank Draft by the due date.
7. Candidates will have to produce proof of details furnished in their applications at the time of interview and as and when required.
8. Applications received after the due date, without requisite fee, unsigned applications, incomplete applications and applications not in prescribed format are liable to be rejected.
9. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
10. Mere fulfillment of the minimum advertised qualifications and experience requirement DOES NOT automatically entitle an applicant to be shortlisted for interview.
11. The Institute shall screen the applications received by the due date and organize a written test for shortlisting the candidates to be called for the interview. The written test for the eligible applicants shall be conducted in the Institute campus at Chandrabani, Dehradun.
12. The shortlisted candidates would be called for interview subsequently at Dehradun.
13. No correspondence will be entertained either with regard to the call for written test, interview and/or selection process.
14. It may be noted that if, at any stage, it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to willfully conceal or misrepresent the facts, his/her candidature may be summarily rejected and his/her employment terminated.
15. The date for determining the age limit/experience/qualifications shall be the closing date prescribed for receipt of applications.
16. The decision of the Institute in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application, mode of selection will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained from any individual or his/her agency.
17. SC/ST/OBC candidates (not in Government Service), called for interview will be paid travel expenses (to and fro) limited to second class railway fare or bus fare chargeable by the shortest route from railway/bus station nearest to their place of residence or the place of commencement of journey, whichever is nearer to the place of interview. The reimbursement would be made on production of proof of journey and limited to travel within India only.
18. The communication by the Institute with the applicant will be through Registered Post/ Speed Post and email id given in the candidate’s application.
19. How to Apply:
(i) The applications should be sent in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-1) (neatly hand-written or typed out in A-4 size paper 210x297 mm) accompanied by crossed Indian Postal Order/Bank Draft of the value of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) drawn in favour of Director, Wildlife Institute of India, payable at Dehradun. Fee is non-refundable. No fee is payable by SC/ST candidates.
(iii) Applications should be accompanied by self attested copies of certificates of age, educational qualifications, experience, and claim of belonging to SC/ST/OBC etc. The original certificates would be required at the time of interview.

Applications from abroad and from those in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, State/Union Territories in the North Eastern Region, Ladakh division of the Jammu & Kashmir State, Sikkim, Panaji Sub-division of Chamba, Lahaul & Spiti Districts of Himachal Pradesh should reach upto 15th March 2013.
