Corrigendum to Advertisement No. 03/2012

The Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany, Lucknow issued an Advertisement No. 03/2012 for 01 post of Scientist ‘D’ (UR), 01 post of Scientist ‘B’ (SC), 01 post of Scientist ‘B’ (PH Orthopedic disability) and 17 posts of Scientists ‘B’ (02 SC, 01 ST, 05 OBC and 09 UR), Scale of Pay: PB-3 Rs 15,600– 39,100 + GP Rs 5400.

The minimum qualifications and experience and desirable qualifications and experience for 01 post of Scientist ‘B’ (PH Orthopedic disability) and 18 posts of Scientists ‘B’ (03 SC, 01 ST, 05 OBC and 09 UR) have been modified as follows:

Minimum qualifications and experience M.Sc. or recognized equivalent qualification with a first division in Biosciences/Geology/Physics/Chemistry or an allied discipline in Earth Science and 3 years research experience in relevant discipline.

OR Ph.D. in relevant discipline.

Desirable qualifications and experience Advanced training in Palaeontology/Geobiology/Molecular Palaeonotolgy/Stratigraphy/Sedimentology/
Stable Isotope Geochemistry/Biogeochemistry/Geochronology/Fossil Fuel Exploration/Glaciology and/or other relevant disciplines, supported by publications of high standard in national/international journals.

In addition to the prescribed minimum qualifications, the candidate should have a consistently good academic record.

Age limit: 35 years for Scientist ‘B’; provided that the crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date of the receipt of applications from the candidates, i.e. 12 April 2013; provided further that the age limit is relaxable by five years in respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories and by three years for candidates belonging to OBC category respectively; age relaxation for PH candidates will be as per Government of India rules; and provided further that in case of applicants already in service in any of the funded Institutions under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, the relaxation of age limit up to a maximum of five years shall be admissible.

The detailed Corrigendum to Advertisement No. 03/2012 alongwith prescribed proforma is available on the Institute’s website www.bsip.res.in Other conditions are the same as in our Advertisement No. 03/2012 except general condition 01 which has been deleted.

No application fee for SC/ST/PH candidates. Other candidates are required to pay non-refundable application fee of Rs 100 in favour of the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany, Lucknow through Demand Draft only drawn on any Nationalized Bank at Lucknow. No other mode of payment of application fee is acceptable.

Candidates should submit their applications only in the prescribed proforma along with attested copies of marksheets, certificates, degrees, testimonials, etc., to The Registrar, Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany, 53 University Road, Lucknow 226 007, UP, India latest by 12 April 2013.

Those candidates who have applied against our Advertisement No. 03/2012 need not apply again. Their applications will be considered by the Institute along with the applications received against this
corrigendum.
