Scientific Officer (Genetic Transformation Lab)

ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the post of Scientific Officer (Genetic Transformation Lab) to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited position.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory, greenhouse and field experiments, data collection, and analysis, and prepare draft reports related to transgenic research activities.
• Maintenance of bacterial stock cultures and inventory of lab chemicals and enzymes.
• Provide help and support to various on-going activities on the transgenic research.
• Provide support to scientist in writing reports, research articles and other related jobs from time to time.

Competencies:

• Good proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Good knowledge in bioinformatics desirable
• Good team player and adaptable to working in a multicultural team.

Requirements:

• M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Genetics/Microbiology/Botany from a reputed university with good academic record.
• Good knowledge of data management methods and ability to use spreadsheets (eg., Excel, MS Access).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in transgenic research, including transformation, molecular characterization and field trails.

General:
This position is a nationally recruited staff position for three years and renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the Institute's continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
