Name of the Position : Principal Scientist / Sr. Principal Scientist
Essential Qualification : Ph.D in any branch of Life Sciences with post doctoral experience in bioinformatics research in analysing complex evolutionary relationship in protein sequence, structure and functional diversity using modern computational tools or in the application of bioinformatics tools in nucleic acid research.
Experience Required : For Principal Scientist position - 3years and for Senior Principal Scientist Position - 6 years.
Desirable Qualification / Experience : Experience in developing protein data base to analyze complex cellular system such as signalling cascade and host pathogen interactions or experience in developing new techniolgies for analyzing and storing large data set and sequencing microbial genome to study host-microbe interaction for elucidating disease mechanism.
Job requirement : The incumbent are expected to work independently pertaining to bioinformatics in proteomics research and / or in the area of genemic research using sophisticated computational tools and also to participate in the ongoing research programs in the Institute.
Age Limit : 45 years for Principal Scientist and 50 years for Senior Principal Scientist.
Reservation Status : Unreserved.
Pay Band : Rs. 37,400-67,000/-
Grade Pay : The Selection Committee depending upon the performance of the candidate may choose to place the candidate in any of the Grade Pay (Rs. 8700/- Or Rs. 8900/-) within the Pay Band subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criterion specified.
Total Emoluments : The total monthly emoluments at this level inclusive of all allowances would be approximately between Rs. 98,091/- to Rs. 1,04,121/-
Application fee : Bank Draft of Rs.100/- drawn in favour of Director, IICB payable at Kolkata.(The application fee is exempted for PH Candidate)
