Research Technician

ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the post of Research Technician to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited position.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and executing the routine field activities related to millet molecular breeding
• Tabulate/manage the breeding data management and experimental activities
• Assist in the genomics laboratory whenever required
• Assist in conducting glass house experiments and data management
• Tabulate /record the data jobs assigned from time to time

Competencies:

• Understanding of basic science and inquisitiveness to learn and work in the field
• Understanding of Basic DNA science
• Well-versed with data entry and text editing
• Good knowledge of MS-Office in particular MS-Excel

Requirements:

• BSc/MSc in Biological/Life Sciences from a recognized University
• Applied/theoretical knowledge of DNA science
• 3 years of relevant experience for BSc, 2 years for MSc in the similar capacity
• Proficiency in MS-Office

General: This position is a nationally recruited staff position for three years and renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the Institute's continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
