Notification for PhD Admission at National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology (Affiliation with Jain University, Bangalore, UGC recognized)
Applications are invited from eligible candidates with very good academic record and research potential for undertaking PhD in the field of Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Microbiology at National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology (NIANP), Bangalore through affiliation with Jain University which is a Deemed University under UGC act.
The NIANP is one of the youngest research institutions under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research; under Ministry of Agriculture with state of the art research facilities and qualified staff for conducting basic and fundamental research in the area of genomics, proteomics, recombinant DNA technology, microRNA, RNA interference, nutrigenomics, meta genomics of microbes, solid state fermentation, nano-technology, neutraceuticals, molecular endocrinology, micro nutrient technology, precision nutrition, digestion, metabolism, toxicology, climate changes, stress markers and other important areas in the field of animal nutrition, physiology and reproduction. The institute also has the facilities for conducting in vitro experiments (embryo, stem cells and spermatozoa) and in vivo studies in small and large animals.
Eligibility: Candidate must possess the fellowship from any organization to support their study viz., CSIR-UGC NET/ GATE/ DST Inspire/DBT women fellowship or any other similar from within the country or abroad.
Selection procedure: A candidate can apply directly to the Jain University by downloading the PhD application from the Jain University web site (www.jainuniversity.ac.in/Download/2012-13/PhD_AppForm.pdf) indicating their preference to work at NIANP in the area specified along with the application fees. A copy of the application only be sent to the Academic cell of NIANP, Bangalore. Candidate may note that all the fees have to be paid to Jain University only and no fees to be remitted to NIANP, Bangalore.
Course work: On selection, candidates will be registering under Jain University for the completion of two semesters of course work. As per the university norms candidate has to complete one core paper, one research methodology and two specialization paper courses besides review of literature and defence of synopsis prior to confirmation of registration.
Fees structure: As per the norms of Jain University.
Procedure for application
A candidate can submit a copy of the application submitted to Jain University to the Academic cell, National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Hosur Main Road, Adugodi, Bangalore-560030, Karnataka.; indicating their area of research interest from the list so that eligible guides would be allotted.
