ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POST OF JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW and PROJECT ASSISTANT

Applications are invited for the recruitment of One post of Junior Research Fellow and one post of Project Assistant under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) funded Twinning project for North-East region entitled “Characterization of tight junction proteins and use of phytochemicals towards restoration of tight junctional complex disruption as a possible treatment against cancer” at the Department of Life Science and Bioinformatics, Assam University, Silchar, Assam 788011. The duration of the project is for a maximum period of three years. The details of the post are:

1. Junior Research Fellow: One position

Emoluments: JRF Rs.16,000/- + HRA for the 1st two years and Rs 18,000/- + HRA for the 3rd year for SRF and applicable only if JRF/SRF is NET/GATE/DBTBET/ BINC qualified, otherwise it shall be Rs 12,000/- +HRA only for the 1st two years (for JRF) and Rs 14,000/- + HRA for the 3rd year (for SRF).

The candidates must possess minimum 55% marks in M Sc. in Life Science/Biotechnology/Zoology/Biochemistry with good academic records. Preference will be given to candidates having demonstrated experience in the related research.

2. Project Assistant : One Position

Emoluments: Project Assistant @ Rs. 8000/- consolidated.

Candidate should have passed minimum 10+2 level with at least 1-year working experience in laboratories.

Short listed candidates will be called for an interview by e-mail. The candidates are advised to check their e-mail regularly for any update. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview. The position is purely temporary and will be governed by the Administrative rules/ service conditions of the University/DBT and continue for the duration of the project.
