ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Bioinformatics tools and web resources have become an ntegral part of professional lives of human geneticists. his workshop is organized as a part of diamond jubilee elebrations of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. The orkshop aims to provide a hands-on experience on niversity of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) Genome rowser, a widely used web interface. In addition, the articipants will have demonstrations on use of bioinformatics tools related to next generation sequencing, genomic microarray, mutation analysis and protein modeling. The workshop has excellent faculty from USA, UK and India. Both basic and advanced topics in the area of medical genetics will be discussed with ample time to work on computers and for interactions.
TARGET GROUP The target audience are researchers working in the field of medical genetics, human genetics and clinical genetics.
Participants should have basic knowledge of computers and internet browsing. The participants are expected to bring their own laptops. Access to Wi-Fi services will be
provided. To optimize the hands-on training to the participants, limited registrations are available and selection is purely on first come first served basis.
