A Refresher Course on ‘Evolutionary Ecology of Plants and Animals’ for postgraduate college/university teachers and research students, will be held at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Peelamedu, Coimbatore 641 004, Tamil Nadu from 11 to 26 November 2013.
This Course is aimed at giving the participants a platform to discuss about plant and animal interactions which are the key agents that drive the evolution of Biodiversity. The thematic areas that would be taken in the Course will be adaptation and evolution, evolution of plant and animal interactions, sociobiology of animals and plants, chemical ecology, circadian rhythms and evolution, systematics, phylogenetics, island biogeography and biodiversity. The Course will also help the participants to gain and sharpen their skills in multispecies interactions and mutualistic interactions that prevail in the environment.

Pandian (Madurai), Dr Vijay Kumar Sharma (JNCASR, Bangalore), Professor Renne M. Borges and Dr Praveen Karanth (IISc, Bangalore), Dr Pramod (SACON, Coimbatore).
Teachers and research students who wish to participate in the Refresher Course may send their application on plain paper with following details: name, age, date of birth, gender, e-mail, official and residential address, telephone and mobile numbers, academic qualifications starting from B.Sc. teaching/research experience (current research activities), courses taught, positions held and a statement indicating the reason for their interest in participation and their expectations from the Course. (Please do not send your entire bio-data.) Only 25 candidates will be selected.
Selected candidates will be provided local hospitality and round trip actual of bus/train fare (3-tier AC) by the shortest route.
