Details:

The International Office is delighted to announce eight Newcastle University Indian Scholarships for postgraduate applicants as follows:

  • £3,000 each payable towards the first year of tuition fees

These are available for high achieving Indian students applying for entry onto taught degree programmes within the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS), Science, Agriculture and Engineering (SAgE) and Medical Sciences (FMS) commencing their studies in September 2014.

Eligibility
In order to apply for one of these scholarships you must satisfy the following conditions:

  • you must be an Indian national and have been assessed as international/overseas for fees purposes    
  • you must hold a conditional or unconditional offer of a place at Newcastle University
  • you intend to register to start your studies during the 2014-15 academic year

Academic requirements: To apply for the postgraduate scholarships you must have an average of 65 per cent or above in your bachelors degree. If you are offered a conditional place and waiting for final semester/year results you can also apply if your result so far is an average of 65 per cent or above and you are expecting to maintain/increase this in your final semester/year. If you have CGPA scores you can also apply if your percentage equivalence is 65 per cent and above (you MUST specify this in the form.)

Please complete the scholarship application form (Word Doc: 77.0KB)  electronically including a personal statement of no more than 500 words.

Further information

Please note: Newcastle University scholarships are not automatic and you need to apply by submitting the above application form. Before applying, you must have been offered a conditional/unconditional place to study at the University.

Country managers will award these scholarships in consultation with Head of International Recruitment and faculty representatives. Along with academic achievements and the personal statement, diverse assessment levels of Indian education system will also be taken into consideration whilst awarding the scholarship.
