OBJECTIVES
The aim of the workshop is as follows

1. To create an awareness with respect to the basic tools and techniques used in molecular biology and bioinformatics

2. To provide hands-on-training in the basic tools and techniques

3. To inspire and motivate young scientists to apply these techniques in their research programmes

This training programme is being organized as part of the Biotech Training and Workshop (BTW) programme of the Kerala Biotechnology Commission of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) (www.kscste.kerala.gov.in/pgmbtw.htm).

By holding the programme in the Department of Biotechnology, Cochin University, we hope to target students, research scholars, teachers and scientists in Kerala.

THEME OF THE TRAINING PROGRAMME

The focal theme of the workshop is the augmentation of the practical skills of the participants and thereby to improve the quality of human resource in various institutions.

The seminar will have lectures in frontier areas of biotechnology and bioinformatics by eminent professors and scientists from reputed Institutions followed by Lecture/Demonstration sessions and Laboratory sessions for imparting hands-on training in techniques.
