Individual Scientific Research Awards 2014–2015
The Trustees of the Lady Tata Memorial Trust offer awards for scientific investigations having a bearing directly or indirectly on the alleviation of human suffering from disease.
Scholars recommended by an Indian university/institution, with first class academics (strictly 60% and above from Class X up to date), are required to work whole time under the direction of a scientist of standing in a recognized Institution. Candidates with GATE/NET qualifications will be given preference.
Rates of awards and other particulars are as follows:

I. Post-Doctoral Fellowship: To a Ph.D. in Science or to a M.D./M.S. Degree holder with two years’ research experience. (two year award term)

House Rent Allowance (HRA) at 25% of the value of their scholarship will be offered to scholars doing research work at universities/institutes/laboratories, in Metro Cities, i.e. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, being educational locations outside their place of permanent residence. Scholars from other small towns/cities will receive HRA @ 10% of the value of their scholarship. A certificate should be submitted from the university/institute verifying the status of accommodation of the scholar. Scholars residing in accommodation provided by the institute/ university will not be eligible for HRA claim.
Applications for joint investigations will not be accepted.
Any one Guide in a Department can recommend the application of only one candidate in any given area.
Application is to be submitted online strictly between 1 December 2013 and 15 January 2014, on our website www.ladytatatrust.org/StaticPageIndia/Awards/0 as per information and rules stated therein. Application forwarded by postal service/courier will not be accepted.
The above two Awards are effective from 1 August 2014.
