About NIAB National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India being established in the campus of University of Hyderabad.
The focus of NIAB is to promote translational science and capacity building in the area of Animal Biotechnology. The vision is to enhance knowledge on livestock production and health and translate the knowledge for developing a globally competitive livestock industry through innovative science and technology development. A key feature of NIAB is that it will function as an incubator for start-up companies and will also act as a national repository of biotech products and processes and promote bio entrepreneurship in the country.
The research at NIAB is focused on Animal Genetics and Genomics, Transgenic and Biotech Animal Products, Reproductive Biotechnology, Animal Health and Nutrition Enrichment. NIAB aims at catering to the needs of animal healthcare sector in India with major emphasis on conducting high quality research and attracting world-class talent. Among other activities, the institute aims at research leading to the development of vaccines, diagnostic kits and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals.
Applications are invited for the Project Fellow positions for various projects at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad
Post: Project Fellows
Fellowship: `16,000/- (NET-JRF/GATE) + 30% HRA p.m; `12,000/- (Others) + 30% HRA p.m.
Minimum qualifications:
1. M. Sc. in any branch of life sciences.
Desirable qualification: Hands on experience in HPLC, Flow Cytometry, microbiology, Molecular Biology and Protein Chemistry techniques.
2. M. V. Sc. in Animal Reproduction.
Desirable qualification: Experience in handling of large animals (restraining and collection of samples in cattle and buffalo), artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis and ultrasonography. Thorough understanding of reproductive physiology is essential. Excellent communication skills towards field-oriented research will be ideal.
3. M. V. Sc. in Parasitology/M. Sc. with experience in parasitology or infectious disease biology.
Desirable qualification: Experience in Cell Culture and Molecular Biology techniques.
4. M. Sc. / M. Tech. in Bioinformatics.
Desirable qualification: Experience in Genome data analysis.
NET/GATE qualification for all the positions is desirable.
Number of positions may increase or decrease.
