INDO-US INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS-CUM-WORKSHOP ON IPR
January 29-31, 2014
We request you to kindly participate and/or delegate participants involved in IP generation/protection at your organization.
The technical sessions will address IP issues in five thematic areas, Bioresources and Biodiversity, Traditional knowledge and Indian Systems of Medicine, Varietal development and Plant Variety Protection, Green Technologies and Agriculture, Neutraceuticals. The lead and plenary lectures will be delivered by senior scientists/ technocrats from Universities/ Research Organizations and legal experts from USA and India. The Round Table discussions will be attended by graduate students, faculty members, scientists, government officials, policy makers, members of print and electronic media, R&D organizations, corporate and patent attorneys involved in generation of IP and its application for economic growth.

About Amity Institute of Microbial Technology

· P.G. Diploma in Microbial Sciences (1 year)
Eligibility: B.Sc. (Biological Sc.) (min 55%)
· M.Sc. – Microbial Technology (2 years)
Eligibility: B.Sc. (Biological Sc.) (min. 60%) & 10+2 (min. 60%)
· M.Phil. – Microbial Technology (1 ½ years)
Eligibility: Master degree in relevant stream (min. 55%)
· Ph.D. – Microbial Technology (Full time - min. 2 years; Part time – min. 3 years)
Eligibility: Master degree in relevant stream (min. 55%)
· D.Sc. – Microbial Technology (Mini. 3 years)
Eligibility: A Doctoral degree in the relevant discipline and at least three years teaching/research experience after the award of the Ph.D. Degree and active engagement in research work
Why AIMT?
· State of art facilities: AIMT has most modern infrastructural facilities including two practical labs fully devoted for teaching M.Sc students, two research labs for carrying out the research projects and specialized labs for plant tissue culture, greenhouse, controlled environment plant/ microbes growth chambers, biochemical analysis, cryo facility and facilities to carry out molecular studies etc. Apart from routine basic equipments needed for teaching and research, the labs are equipped with state-of-the art instruments like HPLC, PCR, Gel documentation unit, Bio-reactor etc.
· Modern research: Apart from degree courses, AIMT enrolls Ph.D & D.Sc. students and is undertaking research in a wide range of specializations including plant microbe interaction for improving the value of medicinal plants, medicinal mushroom as neutraceutical, micro-nutrient and crop quality improvement. The institute is presently running 11 research projects, sponsored by Indian government funding agencies like DBT, DRDO, DST, ICAR, MoEF etc.
· Scope: Quality control & hygiene in Hotels, food testing labs & catering industry, pharmaceutical companies, distilleries, clinical diagnostic labs, corporate and government sector R&D labs. Students can also pursue higher studies in India and abroad.
Placement
· M.Sc. fourth semester dedicated to training, facilitated by the institute, which provides them the best opportunities for placement
· In the year 2011 and 2012, 75% of the M.Sc. students got placed right after completing their degrees on the basis of the experience and hands-on-training completed during the fourth semester
