Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the position of “JRF” in a DST-RFBR sponsored project entitled “Unravelling higher-level phylogenetic relationships of skipper butterflies (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae), times of divergences and evolution of hostplant associations”.

Qualifications: For JRF- Master’s degree in any area of Biological Sciences with minimum of 55% marks, qualified NET-JRF/LS or GATE (valid qualified score).
Experience: The project involves large-scale DNA sequencing of selected genes from the family Hesperiidae to reconstruct the global phylogeny of the group and investigation of patterns of diversication. Experience in ecological or evolutionary research, phylogenetic analyses and an aptitude for fieldwork will be a plus. Familiarity with DNA extraction, PCRs and other molecular techniques is a must.
Age limit: 28yrs. A relaxation of 3-5 yrs will be applicable to SC/ST/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.
Fellowship: JRF-NET: monthly 16000/- + HRA
Duration: 20 months
