All selected candidates will be eligible for either Institute fellowship of Rs. 16,000/- or as per existing funding agency norms, subject to satisfactory performance in their course work.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s (MSc/MS) degree in any of the disciplines of Biological Sciences with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 7.0. Applicants with an MSc/MS degree from any of the other disciplines including Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Mathematics and Physics with an aptitude to do research in Biological Sciences are also encouraged to apply. Candidates with B. Tech/M.Tech/MBBS or MCA can also apply.
The applicant MUST have qualified National level examinations including but not limited to National Eligibility Test (NET) with a valid CSIR-JRF / UGC-JRF / DBT-JRF A category / ICMR-JRF category-I / INSPIRE-Ph.D. / Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship / GATE / JGEEBILS. The certificate/fellowship MUST be valid at the time of admission.
Students whose results for such national level examination(s) are awaited may also apply with their roll number(s) mentioned in the application. Such candidates will be called for interview only if they have qualified the national level examination.
Selection Procedure:
The selection procedure for admission into the PhD programs will be based on the performance of the candidate in the interviews which will be conducted in two rounds (Rounds I and II). Candidates shortlisted from Round I, will have the option to interact with faculty members in the department following which Round II of the interviews will be conducted for the final selection. During the interviews, the candidate will be evaluated for their conceptual knowledge and the research aptitude in the field of general and Biological sciences.

May 26, 2014 (Monday): Date of Interview Round I
