Project Title | FOOD SECURITY THROUGH REDUCED DIETARY INTAKE: LOW COST NUTRACEUTICAL DEVELOPMENT FROM RICE, WHEAT AND COARSE GRAIN (SLA) About the project : This project is undertaken as part of a larger project of ‘Sustainable Food Security through Technological Interventions for Production, Processing and Logistics’. The SLA project is a part of work package of biotechnological solutions to sustain National Food Security Act. The SLA project aims at isolation, purification and characterization of nutraceuticals carbohydrate molecules from rice, wheat, ragi, bajra and jawar. It also targets processing of these grains facilitating more release of such molecules. The increased availability of oligo- and polysaccharides will improve nutritional status of these grains. These processed grains after fortification with other nutritional ingredients may improve health |
