Workshop on Gene Technology-Module III (Molecular cloning) in association with Eppendorf

School of Life Sciences, B.S. Abdur Rahman University in association with Eppendorf is offering a series workshop on gene technology from basic to advanced levels to train undergraduates, post graduates, researchers and technicians. The main objective of this workshop is to train the students and researchers to independently perform molecular biology experiments and also to get exposure to the advancements in technique. This workshop modules consisting of series of lectures, demonstrations and hands on training in molecular biology and bio informatics laboratory. Module I on Gene amplification and module II on Analysis of gene expression was successfully organised in month of March and May, 2014. Now we are organizing Module III.

Workshop on Gene Technology - Module III: Molecular cloning –

August 20^th-22^nd, 2014

Lectures:

·         Principle and applications of cloning techniques,

·         Interpretation and presentation of experimental results

·         Trouble shooting in cloning.

Lab courses:

·         Gene Amplification by PCR

·         Purification of PCR products,

·         Ligation of DNA into cloning vector

·         Molecular cloning

·         Selection of clones

·         Confirmation of cloned gene

 Registration Fee: Rs. 2000/- Last date for Registration is 15^th, August 2014
