Applications are invited from candidates for full-time Ph.D. in the following areas:

School of Chemical & Biotechnology

School of Civil Engineering

School of Humanities & Sciences

School of Management Studies

School of Mechanical Engineering

School of Electrical Engineering

School of Computing

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying degree .

A candidate who has any one of the following degrees from SASTRA UNIVERSITY or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the discipline of study notified from time to time by SASTRA  UNIVERSITY shall be eligible for admissions to Ph.D. Programme :

Master's degree in Engineering / Technology / Management / Pharmacy /  Science / Arts / Computer Applications / Chartered Accountancy (CA) with a minimum of two years of work experience .

A candidate who has  Bachelor?s degree with a minimum of 60% and / or with an industrial sponsorship shall be considered for direct Ph.D. programme.

B. Tech. / M. Tech. / M. E. / M.Pharm. / M. Phil. / M. Sc. / M.V.Sc. graduates from relevant disciplines may apply. Selection will be based on written test followed by interview to be conducted at the University on June 6, 2014. A stipend of Rs. 12,000-16,000 per month will be provided for the selected candidates who do not receive CSIR/UGC/NET

In person from the Office of Admissions at SASTRA University campus in Thanjavur or Kumbakonam or at Admin Office in Chennai (9, Karnan Street, Rengarajapuram, Chennai 600 024) on payment of Rs.600/- Application forms can also be obtained at select branches of Indian Overseas Bank and City Union Bank. (Branch details will be made available in the website: http://www.sastra.edu)

Application forms can also be downloaded at http://www.sastra.edu and can also be sent by post on receipt of DD for Rs.650/- favouring SASTRA payable at Thanjavur. DD must be sent to Office of Admissions, SASTRA University, Thanjavur ? 613401, Tamil Nadu.
