Chromosome Stability 2014

14 - 18 DECEMBER 2014

BANGALORE

Over the past few years there has been a substantial growth and better understanding in the area of chromosome stability, possibly due to a concerted effort of scientists working in the areas of genomics, genetics, biophysics and biochemistry. Interestingly, in India too, there have been considerable interests in this area both among the senior as well as young scientists especially those who have just formed their own research groups after a productive postdoctoral training. Thus we felt that there is an urgent need to provide a platform to facilitate interaction between the motivated and fast growing Indian community interested in areas related to chromosome stability. Moreover, India probably has the largest pool of talented graduate students who should also be exposed to a meeting of this nature. Keeping these points in mind, we are organizing a conference on Chromosome Stability. We have 42 confirmed speakers of international repute, a nice blend of young and senior scientists, from all over the world presenting seminars on the following areas:

1. DNA repair and recombination
2. Genome maintenance
3. Meiosis
4. Centromere/kinetochore structure and function
5. Genome structure and organization

This is great opportunity for all of us to be part of an international community on chromosome stability. To foster better interactions among students and speakers, we encourage students, postdocs and young faculty members to present posters and involve in informal discussion. We also request the speakers and all the participants to stay the entire duration of the meeting to facilitate such interactions. Due to space limitation, the maximum number of participants is restricted to 120. We also have slots for 50 posters. While the participation of the non-speakers will be based on the time of registration (first come basis), the poster slots will be chosen from the submitted abstracts.

Last date of registration is 10 October.

Candidates selected for poster presentation will be informed by 20 October.
