The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad is a premier autonomous R & D Institute under the Societies Act funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, that has been established to provide services and to undertake R & D in DNA Fingerprinting, DNA Diagnostics and other areas of modern biology.
CDFD wishes to fill up under mentioned vacancy on purely contractual basis whose tenure is likely to be extended at six-monthly intervals.
As per the policy of CDFD for positions on contract, consolidated monthly emoluments are calculated @ 145% of the equivalent salary in Central Govt. post comprising of Basic Pay + Dearness Allowance (DA) + Transport Allowance (TA) + 45% loading on Basic Pay (in lieu of HRA, Medical, LTC, terminal benefits etc). For the vacancy below, the equivalent Central Govt. Scale / Pay Band has been indicated in parentheses.
Consolidated emoluments mentioned against vacancy below have been calculated at the present rate of Dearness Allowance of 100%.
1. TECHNICAL OFFICER – I (Equivalent to Post in the Pay Band – 2, ` 9300-34800 Plus Grade Pay ` 4200/-)
Age limit: between 18-30 years
Consolidated Emoluments: ` 36,275/-
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
Essential Qualifications: BVSc / MSc (Microbiology / Biochemistry / Life Sciences) or equivalent OR First class BSc (Microbiology / Biochemistry / Life Sciences) with three years experience OR B. Tech (Biotechnology) with three years experience.
Desirable: Experience in rodent breeding, colony management, and maintaining proper records of animals in each cage. Knowledge and experience of euthanasia, dissection, administering test compounds by injection, genetic monitoring of laboratory animals, microbiological and biochemical testing, cell culture, and other common procedures would be an added advantage.
Job Requirements: Handling and maintaining rodents for research purpose, including: setting up breeding and maintaining proper breeding records; changing rodent cages, food, bedding and water periodically; marking individual animals in a colony; assisting on techniques and conducting approved procedures on laboratory animals like collection of blood, injections of test compounds by various routes, raising antibodies, dissection and necropsy, rodent surgery, animal cell culture, microbiological testing, genetic and regular screening techniques and recoding data.
2. TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (for Rodent Lab)
(Equivalent to Post in the Pay Band – 2, ` 9300-34800 Plus Grade Pay ` 4200/-)
Age limit: between 18-30 years

Educational Qualifications and Experience:
Essential Qualifications: BVSc or equivalent or MSc or First Class BSc with three years experience.
Desirable: Experience in handling and maintaining rodents for research purpose.
