The following posts are urgently required to be filled for the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India funded project entitled "Computational Core for Plant Metabolomics" administrated by Prof Indira Ghosh, School of Computational and Integrative Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110 067

NB: For all Bioinformatics posts, preference will be given to candidates with a basic knowledge of Python and/or R. Knowledge of JAVA will also get a special consideration.

RA / Research Associate (Bioinformatics/Computational Biologist)

Salary: Rs. 23000/- + HRA

Essential Qualifications:
 PhD, preferably in plant biotechnology/biochemistry/Bioinformatics with experience in analyzing high throughput omics-based data.

Desired Skills: Prior experience in handling and guiding bioinformatics, metabolomics data, managing the project portal, preparing and filing reports etc. Will be expected to communicate with user groups and coordinate with LIMS group in Hyderabad and the Cheminformatics group in Delhi.

RA / Research Associate (Chemo-informatics/Biochemist)

Salary: Rs. 23000/- + HRA

Essential Qualifications: PhD in Bioinformatics/ computational biology/ Biophysics/ Physical Chemistry /Medicinal Chemistry/Computer Science. Computational experience is a necessary qualification proven by paper published.

Desired Skills: Research experience in Chemical scaffold mapping, in silico Spectral analysis, Biological Data Designing & Integration is required. Individual is responsible to develop methods related to metabolite identification, Testing and refining and integrate LIMS with IIIT Hyderabad and will be expected to communicate with user groups.

Project SRF (Bioinformatics/Computational Biologist)

Salary: Rs.18000/- + HRA

Essential Qualifications: Masters/B Tech in Basic Sciences or B pharma with at least 2yrs of research experience in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology related to high throughput data handling and analysis etc. Published paper in peer-reviewed Journal is a MUST.

Desired Skills: Will be expected to manage ongoing research activities in Metabolomics, interact with LIMS group, manage the project portal, prepare and file reports etc. Familiarity with plant systems biology and genomics /metabolite resources related to plant metabolomics is desirable.

Project JRF (Bioinformatics)

Salary: Rs.12000/- + HRA

Vacancy: 1

Essential Qualifications: Masters/B Tech in Basic Sciences or B pharma with at least 1 year of research experience in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology related to systems biology data handling and analysis etc. High quality skill in algorithm development, program writing in Python, Java etc. is a MUST. Published/ Communicated paper or poster in National/Internationals conference is desirable.

Desired Skills: Will be expected to manage ongoing research activities in Metabolomics, interact with LIMS group, manage the project portal, prepare and file reports etc. Familiarity with Chemoinformatics, script writing & database organizing and extracting using searching etc. will be considered favorably while selection for Interview.

For the position #1& #2 the candidates who have submitted thesis are allowed to APPLY, however salary will be provided as per DBT/DST guidelines. Candidates who have qualified NET /BET / BINC will have higher pay scale as per DBT/DST guidelines. For SRF & JRF, those are registered or appearing for PhD registration or interested to do PhD within 2 years need not apply.
