About the Centre/ Workshop
The DBT, Govt. of India funded establishment of a Bioinformatics Centre at the Cancer Research Institute in 1989. Over the years, the centre has developed very good infrastructure to serve the users from the institute as well as other organisations.
Through this Workshop, we are targeting Post M.Sc. / Ph.D. students / Research scientists / Academic faculty who do not have exposure to the subject of Bioinformatics and/or the training to use its different components effectively for their research related requirements. Preference will be given to candidates from places without any BTISnet Bioinformatics Centre.
The participant number will be restricted to 15-20 to ensure that everyone receives individual attention. The two-day Workshop with hands-on-sessions will cover the following topics.
Ø Biological Databases & Sequence Analysis
Ø Structural Bioinformatics
Ø Molecular Modelling & Drug Design
Ø Next-Gen-Sequencing data analysis (Exome variant analysis)
Ø Applications of Proteomics
Pre-Requisites
§ Working knowledge of Computers/ Internet.
§ Active research / teaching background.

à List of selected applicants will appear on this website on April 13rd, 2015 and intimation to each of them will be sent only by e-mail. A return e-mail confirmation of attendance is mandatory.
v Workshop material, working lunch and tea/ snacks will be provided during the Workshop.
v Paid accommodation will be provided by the institute.
v No TA/DA will be paid to any participant.
