RECRUITMENT FOR PROJECT

Applications are invited from the citizens of India for filling up the following temporary positions for the sponsored project undertaken in the Department of Chemical Engineering of this Institute. The positions are temporary initially for a period of  1 Year  and tenable only for the duration of the project. The requisite qualification & experience etc. are given below:

Project Code, Project Title & Funding Agency 14DBTPAN001 : "DBT Pan IIT Center for Bioenergy: Central Facility and Center Management Cost" (Department of Biotechnology -PAN IIT)   Position & Salary Senior Project Manager (1 Post ) Consolidated salary Rs.58000 - 78000/- p.m. Qualification -PhD in Biotechnology, Chemical engineering or equivalent. -Four years of research or project management experience backed by publications. -Experience with advanced molecular biology techniques. -Excellent command over English (both spoken and written). Job Profile -Provide scientific assistance to investigators of the center. -Preparation of progress reports, brochure and website. -Manage equipment in central facility. -Co-ordinate project related meetings   Position & Salary Senior Project Research Scientist (1 Post ) Consolidated salary Rs.58000 - 78000/- p.m. Qualification -PhD in Biotechnology, Chemical engineering or equivalent. -Four years of research or lab management experience backed by publications. -Hands-on experience with LC/MS, GC/MS, Flow Cytometer, etc. -Excellent command over English (both spoken and written). Job Profile -Provide scientific assistance to investigators of the center. -Technical assistance with high-end equipment. -Manage equipment in central facility and provide training.   Position & Salary Research Associate (1 Post ) Consolidated salary Rs.36000/- p.m. Qualification -PhD in Biotechnology, Chemical engineering or equivalent. -Excellence in research supported by publications. -Hands-on experience with advanced molecular biology techniques. -Excellent command over English (both spoken and written). Job Profile -Work towards the deliverables of the project. -Metabolic modeling, flux analysis and genetic engineering of micro-algae to improve product formation. -Conversion of biomass to useful products.   Position & Salary Project Attendant (1 Post ) Consolidated salary Rs.9500 - 13500/- p.m. Qualification SSC  Desirable : 1 year of relevant training. Job Profile Provide assistance to Project Manager and Research Scientists of the Center. Cleaning of glassware and laboratory equipment.   Position & Salary Assistant Project Manager (1 Post ) Consolidated salary Rs.28000 - 42000/- p.m. Qualification -B.Tech/B.E/M.Sc/M.CA/MBA or equivalent with minimum three years relevant experience. -Excellent command over English (both spoken and written). -Experience in project management. Job Profile -Provide administrative support to project manager -Organize project related meetings -Assist in preparation of brochure, website, etc.

Project Code, Project Title & Funding Agency 14DBTPAN002 : "Design of Cyanobacterial strains to produce etanol and butanol via Metabolic Engineering and construction of metabolic and regulatory networks" (Department of Biotechnology -PAN IIT)   Position & Salary Junior Research Fellow (3 Post s ) Consolidated salary Rs.25000/- p.m. Qualification -MSc in Life Sciences or B Tech in Chemical Engineering or Biotechnology with first class. -A Valid GATE / NET / CSIR Fellowship qualification. -Experience with molecular biology techniques. Job Profile -Metabolic modeling, flux analysis and genetic engineering of micro-algae to improve product formation. -Conversion of biomass to useful products.

Project Code, Project Title & Funding Agency 14WADHWA001 : "Wadhwani Research Center in Bioengineering (WRCB)" (Wadhwani Foundation)   Position & Salary Assistant Project Manager (1 Post ) Consolidated salary Rs.28000 - 42000/- p.m. Qualification -B.Tech/B.E/M.A/M.Sc/M.CA/MBA or equivalent with minimum 3 years of work experience. -Good communication skills with excellent command over English (both spoken and written). -Experience in content writing such as project proposals and reports. -Proficiency in MS Office applications. Job Profile -Assistance in preparing project proposals -Administrative assistance to the Project Manager, WRCB -Organize project related meetings -Technical record keeping and maintaining accounts -Work on time bound deadlines

The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project . The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
