GMRRF Short Term Course on MicroArray Analysis for Biologists | from 1 May 2015

The Short-term course is organized by Prof. G.M. Reddy Research Foundation in collaboration with Virtue Biologics and trained by translational bioinformatics experts. This is not a placement course perse.

Target audience

This workshop is for young scientists, PhD students and current employees in genomics, disease genomics and bioinformatics.

b. Introduction of power estimation

c. Introduction to type 1 and type 2 errors

4. Introduction of linux

a. Introduction of Ubuntu linux

b. Introduction of basic commands

c. Introduction of package management and maintenance

5. Introduction of microarray analysis tools

a. Introduction of BRB array tools

b. Introduction of Bioconductor

6. Introduction of R/bioconductor

a. Introduction of R

i. Installing R

ii. Basic commands in R

iii. Introduction of R studio

iv. Introduction of automated analysis using scripts in R

b. Introduction of bioconductor

i. Package installation, upgrading and removal

ii. Introduction affylmGUI, LUMI, Onechannel GUI

7. Introduction of functional analysis

a. Introduction of biomart

b. Introduction of GO analysis tools (DAVID)

c. Introduction of pathway analysis, signaling network analysis

Practicals : 1 hour each for the required topics.

Registration

The registration fee is of Rs 7,000/- .

Registration starts from 15th April 2015 which is online via the GMRRF website

Duration: 2 weeks from 1stth of May 2015. Timing: 5pm to 7pm.
