Ph.D. Research position in Botany (Taxonomy)

General Information: Applications are invited for enrolment in Ph.D. program in Botany from Post Graduate students of Botany (or allied disciplines, subject to endorsement by the concerned Ph. D Committee). Maximum up to 6 candidates will be selected on the basis of merit.
A three/four year Ph.D. position (full/part time) is available at the P.G. & Research Dept. of Botany, Mar Thoma College, Thiruvalla, Kerala, (affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam).
Those who have qualified in NET/SET/SLET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship or already obtained M.Phil. degree would be exempted from the qualifying examination conducted by University as per UGC rules.
A Master degree or equivalent in a relevant field is required. A strong academic record and interest in plant, fungal explorations, molecular biology, basic science research, quantitative ethnobotany, and/or systematics are preferable.
The successful candidate will participate in international training network and will work in a highly interactive international environment with other PhD students, researchers, authorities, NGOs and industry. They will also publish research articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
