About the Workshop: The goal of this Workshop is to provide a substantive overview of key areas in molecular biology for the aspiring research scholar. The organizer are primarily seeking research student who are motivated to develop the skill in molecular biology and include in their PhD work. Ideal candidates are PhD students in their early stages of laboratory training or who have begun their bench work are encouraged to apply. This workshop is accomplished through lectures from the top investigators in the field of molecular biology, who not only illustrate the scientific process through their own research, but provide personal examples of their career paths and advice to trainees. Lectures are meant to demonstrate how to design and implement successful scientific experiments in gene expression analysis. Additionally, trainees partake in hands-on laboratories involving useful techniques for an academic research career starting from preparation of RNA to real-time quantification of gene expression. This program is supported by UGC-SAP-DRS-II.

Venue: The Department of Animal Science, Bharathidasan University, Palkaliperur, Tiruchirappalli-620024.

Eligibility: The candidate must be registered PhD student in a College/Research Institute/ State/ Central University. Fifteen participants will be selected from a variety of disciplines and academic backgrounds. No registration fee will be collected from the participants; workshop kit and working lunch will be provided at free of cost. Selected candidate have to arrange their accommodation on their own expenses.
