RECRUITMENT OF SCIENTIST-‘B’

Application form Applications in the prescribed form are invited from Indian nationals for direct recruitment through written test & interview for filling up of three posts of Scientist-B in PB-3 of Rs.15,600-39,100 + Grade Pay of Rs.5400 in Medical and Non-medical fields at Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry. Written test will be conducted at Puducherry on a date which will be intimated later. These posts carry all India Service liability and the selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India.

Post No. 2 : Scientist-B (Non-medical) (Unreserved):

Essential Qualification : 1 st Class M.Sc degree in Zoology/ Medical Entomology/ Public Health Entomology from a recognized University. Or

2 nd Class M.Sc degree in Zoology/ Medical Entomology/ Public Health Entomology + Ph.D in the relevant subject from a recognized University.

Desirable:

i. Doctorate in Zoology/Public Health Entomology/Medical Entomology from a recognized university.
ii. Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in subjects related to vector borne diseases and their control in recognized institute(s)

iii. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Biostatistics/Data Management Job Requirements: Planning and execution of research programmes that include both field and laboratory components, related to vector borne diseases and their control in different eco-epidemiological settings, focusing on vector control through integrated vector management approach, and evaluation of vector control tools. Any other relative research on vector control and vector borne diseases.

Post No. 3 : Scientist-B (Non-medical) (Reserved for OBC) (Anticipated vacancy):

Essential Qualification: 1 st Class Master’s degree in Microbiology from a recognized University. Or 2 nd Class Master’s degree in Microbiology + Ph.D in the relevant subject from a recognized University.

Desirable: i. Doctorate in Microbiology from a recognized university. ii. Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in subjects related to vector borne diseases and their control in recognized institute(s) iii. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Biostatistics/Data Management

Job Requirements: Planning and execution of research programmes related to vector borne human diseases that include development of microbial vector control tools & translation of the tools for operational programme. Teaching and training of post graduate students and other trainees. Development and application of microbiology based diagnostics for vector borne diseases. Any other relative research on vector control and vector borne diseases.
