CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute is a premier national laboratory under Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. The Institute undertakes a wide range of basic and applied R&D projects spanning the areas of chemistry, biology and engineering. The Institute has excellent infrastructure by way of sophisticated analytical instruments, modern laboratories, pilot plants, library, local area network and workshop. Applications are invited in the prescribed form from talented and result-oriented Indian Nationals for 5 posts, as per the following details:
01 Senior Scientist One (01) [UR]
PB-3 [₹15600-39100] Plus Grade Pay of ₹7600/-
M.Tech. in Biotechnology with 3 years of experience relevant to the job. The selected candidate is expected to work in the area of Fermentation technology, Biomass valorization, Protein engineering, Enzyme technology.
Experience in marine biotechnology will be preferred. Selected candidate is expected to take active role is pursuing translational research and institutional program.

Candidates having experience in Product Development/Technology Innovation/Applied Technology etc. will be given preference.
05 Scientist/ Senior Scientist One (01) [OBC]
PB-3 [15600-39100] Plus Grade Pay of ₹6600/- for the post of Scientist and Grade Pay of ₹7600/- for the post of Senior Scientist
For the post of Scientist: Ph.D. (submitted) in the area of genetic improvement of marine algae or algal biotechnology.
For the post of Senior Scientist: Ph.D. in the above mentioned areas with 2 years’ post-Ph.D. experience relevant to the job.
The selected candidate is expected to engage in advanced marine macroalgal research aimed at developing genetically improved variants with agronomically important traits, and also familiar with in-vitro cellular and developmental biology techniques in order to mass proliferate micropropagules for mass production of seedlings or cells for fine chemicals.
32 years for the post of Scientist and 37 years for the post of Senior Scientist.
₹65458/- for the post of Scientist and ₹75625/- for the post of Senior Scientist.
Candidates having experience in Product Development/Tec hnology Innovation/ Applied Technology etc. will be given preference
