Center for Systems Biology and Molecular Medicine (CSBMM) at Yenepoya Research Centre is an advanced multidisciplinary research center with state-of-the-art infrastructure to carry out genomics, proteomics and metabolomics investigations. As a part of the academic program of Yenepoya University, scientists at CSBMM will share their expertise in high-resolution mass spectrometry-based proteomic and metabolomic technologies with young researchers of India through a series of workshops. The organizing team of this workshop has successfully conducted over 20 national workshops on high-resolution mass spectrometry-based proteomics. Several faculty and students from reputed Research Institutes and Universities from India have participated in these workshops.

Venue: YU-IOB Center for Systems Biology and Molecular Medicine, Yenepoya Research Centre, Yenepoya University, Mangalore, India.

Workshop objectives:

As a part of these 4-day long intensive hands on training we will introduce, demonstrate and provide theoretical underpinnings of high-resolution mass spectrometry-based proteomic technologies and their applications to clinical and biological research. Each participant will obtain hands-on training on sample preparation and mass spectrometry-derived proteomic data analysis.

Topics:

· Introduction to proteomics

· Basics of mass spectrometry

· Workflow of a typical proteomics study

· Fractionation techniques

· Operation of Orbitrap Fusion Tribrid mass spectrometer (Thermo Scientific)

· Applications of mass spectrometry-based proteomics

· Approaches for quantitative proteomics

The hands-on training on proteomic sample preparation, mass spectrometry and subsequent data analysis carried out during the workshop will result in a manuscript, which will be submitted to an international peer reviewed journal for publication. All the participants will be co-authors on this manuscript.

Registration fees:

Students: Rs 17,250/- (15,000 + 15% ST)

Academics: Rs. 23,000/- (20,000 + 15% ST)

Industry: Rs. 28,750/- (25,000 + 15% ST)

Foreign Participants: $600

(* ST: Service Tax)

A concession of Rs. 2,000/- in the registration fee will be provided for:

1. Students and faculties from Jammu and Kashmir and North East India

2. Group registration of 3 or more students from the same Institute
