National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), Manesar, is the apex co-ordinating body for research in Neuroscience with the objective of undertaking basic research towards understanding brain structure and function in health and disease. The centre is located at Manesar, Haryana, 50 km from New Delhi. NBRC would like to recruit suitable person for the following position:- 

Post Code: 001 Distinguished Fellow in Neuroscience 
 
Pay Band: `1 lakh per month (consolidated). 


Age Limit :- 67 years as on the last date of receipt of the application. Guidelines for engagement of ‘Distinguished Fellow in Neuroscience’ in NBRC 

1. Applicants for these positions should have distinguished pre-retirement accomplishments in the areas of Cognitive & Computational Neuroscience, Systems Neuroscience or Molecular Neuroscience and should have superannuated from a post at a Grade Pay of Rs.10000/- (6th CPC scales) or above. 

Applicants must have outstanding track records during the last 5 years as evidenced from publications in reputed journals, technology transferred to industry, consultancies offered to external bodies etc; also should have recognition for scientific/ engineering/medical, academic contributions by at least two relevant academies or election to prestigious professional societies/forums or recipient of prestigious awards or track record of involvement in scientific advisory bodies. 

3. Applicants should have proven leadership qualities along with extensive research experience of over 20 years. 

4. The incumbents of these positions should be involved, in addition to research work, in outreach programmes, policy issues, mission programmes, teaching and discussions. 

5. Remuneration of the incumbents shall be Rs.1 lakh per month (consolidated). 

6. The tenure of engagement shall be initially for a period of 3 years, extendible by 2 years based on review of performance, subject to the condition that the term of engagement (initial or extended) shall not take the incumbent beyond the 70 years of age. 

7. The incumbents would be provided with suitable lab space and other official facilities viz. intramural expenses for research, travel expenses for attending domestic and international conferences (on the scale admissible prior to retirement). 

8. The Fellows would be eligible to apply for grants as a Co-PI (or Co-I) and to supervise Ph.D students as a co-guide along with another PI of NBRC. 

9. Maximum 30 days leave will be admissible in a calendar year on prorata basis.
