Agri-Bioincubator (BioNEST)
Agri-Bioincubator is an agriculture biotech focused incubator. It is a joint initiative of NAARM’s Technology Business Incubator : a-IDEA along with Agri Biotech Foundation (ABF), supported by Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, under Bioincubators Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling Technologies (BioNEST). It was established in March 2017 at Hyderabad. The Agri Bioincubator aspires to nurture, support and scale up Agriculture biotech startups. It offers a platform for Bio-Entrepreneurs with innovation in Agri biotech by providing access to wet labs, incubation, mentoring and business support services.
The Bio incubator focuses on supporting entrepreneurs in the area of Biofertilizer, Biopesticides, Plant tissue culture, Seed development through molecular markers, Bio- fortification of vegetable seeds, soil & water testing, organic manures.
Incubation & Business facilities at a-IDEA, NAARM:
Incubation space for startups i.e. Office space, farm facilities, training workshops for incubates,business plan formulation and market access, mentoring support on legal, finance and business aspects, Intellectual property& technology management.
Laboratory &Technical facilities at Agri Biotech Foundation (ABF):
Laboratory space equipped for Microbiology, Molecular biology, Marker assisted breeding, Transgenic& Plant tissue culture labs, Technology mentoring, linkages for technology licensing & up scaling, training & workshops, soft landing of Agri biotech labs.
