‘DBT SPONSORED 3 MONTHS NATIONAL TRAINING IN
MOLECULAR BIOLOGY & BIOTECHNOLOGY FOR FISHERIES
PROFESSIONALS’
Training objective: To create a core group of fisheries scientists equipped with
knowledge of molecular biology and biotechnology tools and to promote such
research through post-training mentoring.
Eligibility: Assistant Professors/ Scientists/ Technical Officers and Project
Personnel with PhD degree and above employed/ associated in SAUs, CAUs,
Fisheries Colleges, research institutes, traditional universities and engaged in
research and teaching in the area of aquaculture, fisheries, aquatic and marine
biology and allied disciplines. The candidates should be interested in applying
molecular biology and biotechnology tools for addressing issues in the fisheries and
aquaculture sector and are required to submit a ‘Statement of Purpose’ highlighting
any issue of their interest.

3. ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kochi – ‘Marine Biotech’
Dates:
Batch V at CMFRI: 1.11.17 to 30.01.18
Batch V at CIFE & CIFA: 20.11.17 to 17.02.18
Total participants: Ten for each batch at each centre.
Travel: Train AC 2Tier fare is permissible for joining of selected participants and
boarding and lodging will be provided as permissible under the project.
