Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Bio Technology
(DBT) sponsored project, "Structural Characterization and inhibitor development for HEV-Methyl
transferase" under the Investigator, Professor Deepak Sehgal, Head, Department of Life Sciences, School of
Natural Sciences, Shiv Nadar University.
Essential qualification
Master's degree in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Life Science with minimum 55% marks from a recognized
university.
Candidate should preferably be GATE/NET qualified or with any equivalent fellowship.

Selected JRF will get ₹ 25000 + HRA per month (first two years) & ₹ 28000 + HRA per month (3rd Year) as per
DBT norms.
Duration of Project
36 months (purely temporary)
Project Description
The project goal involves three dimensional characterization of HEV-methyl transferase enzyme and
identification of its inhibitor using virtual screening and wet lab confirmation of the enzyme inhibition. This
will involve techniques in Molecular Biology, Virology, Biophysics, Biochemistry and Baculovirus Expression
Vector System.
