ICRISAT invites applications from dynamic Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Fellow – Entomology. The position is based in ICRISAT- Patancheru, Hyderabad
Responsibilities:
- Execute studies on insect biology, insect biochemistry and insect-host plant interactions under laboratory and field conditions
- Collection & rearing of insects, biochemical analysis of insect and plant samples
- Provide support to scientists/students in the lab/field
- Consolidate, evaluate and analyze research data related to project
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, publications, and presentations by summarizing research findings and draft manuscripts for publication in refereed journals, provide inputs to project reports, prepare posters and papers for presentation at local and international conferences
- Collaborate with partners to obtain progress report as well as keep participating institutes
Requirements:
- M.Sc in Entomology or Insect Biochemistry or Biochemistry with experience in Entomology and related streams with 0-1 years of experience
- Preference will be given to candidate having experience in biochemical mechanisms of resistance in pigeonpea in relation to expression of resistance to this pest across seasons/agro-ecological zones
- Having experience in rearing
- Experience on working with pigeonpea is highly desirable
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Computer skills (Ms- Office, data analysis)
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team, adaptable to working in multicultural environment
General:
This is a consolidated position for one year and renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the institute’s continuing need for the position.
