Certificate course in Research Methodology and Biostatistics for Medical Professionals

National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis/Indian Council of Medical Research is conducting a “Certificate Course on Research Methodology and Biostatistics for Medical Professionals” from 1/1/2018 to 12/1/2018 at NIRT Chennai.

Objective of the course:

The main objective of the course is to introduce basic concept of research, critical appraisal of literature, data analysis, proposal writing and manuscript writing. We expect that this course will be a tool to build the research capacities of medical professionals and researchers from the fields of public health, clinical medicine, surgery and allied health sectors. To support health, medical, students, research scholars and professionals involved in medical research as part of their academic requirements or professional engagement. To meet the needs of researchers who are in the process of developing their research proposals, acquiring skills of data collection, analyzing their data, and those aiming to get their studies written and published. To address the needs of faculty members and other professional involved in guiding, reviewing and evaluating research studies.
Course Modules:
The course includes 4 modules spread over a period of 2 Weeks
Module 1 -Introduction to Research
Module 2 -Research Methodology and Biostatistics
Module 3 -Data Analysis
Module 4 -Manuscript Writing
Course Delivery: The Course content will be delivered through interactive lectures , group discussions and presentations, assignments and hand on exercise for data analysis. The course will be taught by a multidisciplinary team of National and International experts in the field of research.
Duration of training program: 2 weeks
Maximum Number of participants: 15-20
Who can apply
  1. The applicant should be a citizen of India and should possess a minimum qualification of MBBS and preferably Diploma or DNB or MD/MS/MCH/DM
  2. Faculties of Medical College
  3. Post Graduate medical students
  4. Knowledge of spoken/written English is essential
  5. Applicants are expected to come with a laptop for training
  6. Age: Preferably below 45 years
  1. One time economy class return (air/train) fare to /from host Institution.
  2. Food and stay arrangements during the training period

Incomplete and late applications will be rejected without further notice. The decision of the selection committee will be final.
