Applications are invited on prescribed format for the following assignment in a purely time
bound research project undertaken in the Department of Life Sciences of the Institute. Selected
candidate may enroll in Ph.D. Programme in the Department of Life Sciences, National Institute
of Technology Rourkela based on institute norms and regulations

2. Name of the Research Project : “Spatio-temporal mapping of membrane deformation induced by
Amyloid-beta 40 during neurodegeneration”

6 Job Description : To carry out research in the field of membrane deformation during
neurodegeneration induced by Amyloid beta aggregation; Membrane Protein
Interactions; Membrane Biophysics.
7. Consolidated monthly
compensation / Fellowship
: Rs. 25,000/- (1st & 2nd
year) and Rs.28, 000/- (3rd year). Based on the
performance of the research work the fellowship will be converted in to
Institute fellowship as per Institute rule after the project fellowship.
8. Essential Qualifications and
experience
: M.Sc., in Life Sciences/Biological Sciences/Biotechnology/
Biochemistry/Biophysics or any discipline related to Life Sciences with

st class. Candidate must have qualified the GATE/NET/NET Lectureship
examination.
9. Desirable Qualifications/
Experiences
: Prior experience in membrane-protein interactions, or protein
biochemistry/biophysics is desirable, however, not mandatory.

envelope cover should be super-scribed clearly with the post applied for & Name of the
Project.
Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee invitation to the interview.
Candidates will be short listed based on merit and need of the project.
