One Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position is available in the Membrane protein biology Group, ICGEB, New Delhi for a DBT sponsored project on “Using Foldscope as a crystallization tracking and imaging tool for teaching and research”.
Fellowship and Duration: Rs. 25000/- per month (consolidated). This position is available for the period of only one year and can’t be extended further.
Educational Qualification: MSc/MTech degree in Physical/Chemical/Life sciences. Those who have completed BE/BTech are also eligible.
Candidates with keen interests and prior experience in microscopy, optics and/or electronics, with scientific writing and public demonstration skills will be preferred.
Job description: Modify Foldscope (https://www.foldscope.com/) to be used as UV microscope to distinguish protein crystals from salt crystals. Set up manual crystallization drops in slides. Demonstrate the modified Foldscope to school, college, and university students.
